Session 1

1.5 -2 hours

During the first session (1 ½ – 2 hours), we will do a multi-system review (digestive, cardiac, pulmonary, etc.) as well as a thorough lifestyle investigation (eating, sleeping, working, etc.) in order to identify your life rhythms and preferences. If the session is done in person, it may include an Ayurvedic pulse reading. If you are new to Ayurveda, part of this session will include a general explanation of the 5 elements, dosha and how to monitor your body systems and waste in order to assess your body. Together, we will determine the areas in your life where change is most needed and most realistic in the area of daily routine, eating, sleeping, moving and resting so that you move toward harmony.

Session 2

1 hour

During your second session (1 hour, generally scheduled 7-10 days after your first visit), your teacher will review your personal log of your dosha observations to clarify and offer more support as needed. You will receive recommendations on how to modify your daily routine, eating and sleeping habits as well as balancing movement and rest. You will then be guided through a personalized Asana and/or Pranayama practice specific to your needs. While you will receive one or two preliminary home practices, your teacher will consider the results of this session and develop a more thorough home practice.

Session 3

1 hour

During your third session (1 hour), you will be guided through your final home practice. This will likely include aspects of your preliminary practice with any necessary refinements based on your daily dosha observations. Your daily routine will be reviewed for client adherence and effectiveness. Your teacher will also ask you to demonstrate your practice to clarify your understanding. This will ensure that it is effective while working on your own.

Session 4

1 hour

During the last session (1 hour) your progress will be assessed and you will be given appropriate progressions or modifications to continue with your home practice. Progress will be re-assessed through the multi-system review (digestive, cardiac, pulmonary, etc.) as well as a lifestyle investigation (eating, sleeping, working, etc.). Each body is different and some habits are more deeply rooted. You may find that long-standing issues have noticeably improved within a few weeks or that they will take a few months. As such, you may decide to continue with private yoga sessions upon the completion of this intervention.

Ayurvedic Dosha Assessment plus Strategy

This offering focuses specifically on Ayurveda and Dosha. Ayurveda translates as Science of Life and is a sister science to Yoga. It is an ancient holistic healing and wellness science. In Ayurveda, the five elements that are found in all living things—space, air, fire, water, and earth—are the building blocks of life. As such, we are comprised of a specific mix of elements (dosha) and when these levels go out of balance, disharmony disrupts our life. The goal of this package is to identify your dosha, signs of disharmony and how to support movement to harmony through asana (movement), pranayama (breath work) and daily routine.

This package includes 4 sessions and e-mail support until the completion of your sessions. Cost is $399 to be paid at the time of scheduling.

Bio-Mechanical Assessment and Correction

This offering focuses specifically on movement and breathing optimization by identifying the specific areas where the body is holding on to compensation. Compensation arises naturally as a way to help the body keep moving in cases of injury, pain, repetitive motion, limited motion, surgery or other physical trauma. Compensation becomes a problem when the tissue healed but the nervous system is unable to access efficient movement patterns. This is often, but not always, associated with pain and a risk for further injury. The goal of this package is to identify your asymmetries and compensatory patterns and develop a personalized practice to improve quality of movement through motor control, mobility and stability.

This package includes 4 sessions and e-mail support until the completion of your sessions. Cost is $399 to be paid at the time of scheduling.

Session 1

1.5 -2 hours

During the first session (1 ½ – 2 hours), you will be guided through a movement screen to identify your asymmetries (in movement, stillness and in your breath). Then we will establish the most direct way to restore balance to the body (via a corrective practice). Your Yoga Teacher will take this information home to design a personalized strategy via a home practice that will be taught during the next session.

Session 2

Your Yoga Teacher will take this information home to design a personalized strategy via a home practice that will be taught during the next session.

Session 3

1 hour

During your third session (1 hour), you will be guided through your final home practice and re-assessed for effectiveness. This will likely include aspects of your preliminary practice with any necessary refinements based on the results of your re-assessements. Your teacher will also ask you to demonstrate aspects of your practice to clarify your understanding which will ensure that it is effective while working on your own for the next 2-3 weeks.

Session 4

1 hour

During the last session (1 hour) you will be re-assessed and given appropriate progressions or modifications to continue with your home practice. Each body is different and some compensatory patterns are more deeply rooted. You may find that long-standing issues have noticeably improved within a few weeks or that they will take a few months. This is indicated by your re-screening as well as self-reporting. As such, you may decide to continue with private yoga sessions upon the completion of this intervention. During the weeks of home practice we will be in communication about your progress and adjustments will be made to your home practice based on your feedback.
